Something to remember is that no construction company will accept you as a construction manager right out of college. You will need to make sure you undergo quite a bit of training and of course take an apprenticeship. A good apprenticeship may actually be offered by the college you attend, or you might have to go out and find one. Something to remember is that not all companies will offer an apprenticeship right off the bat. You may very well find that you have to be persistent when speaking to different companies about job opportunities, but in the end that persistence will pay off.
Someone who has completed an apprenticeship will not only impress employers, but also have the experience they need to jump right into a construction job. Yes it is a long road, but to be perfectly honest, holding the job of construction manager will be an unforgettable experience.
